Petr Kuklik
Short resume:
Petr Kuklik is a graduate of the Czech Technical University of Prague where
he was awarded the degrees of M.Sc. and PhD.
His PhD. thesis had the theme "Structural Frame Systems of Wood and Wood
- based Materials". From 1973 to 1988 he worked as an expert on statics
for a firm producing timber structures, later on as a research worker of the
Czech Technical University of Prague. Since 1988 he has been working at the
Czech Technical University as an Associate Professor specializing in Timber
Structures. He attended study stays at Universities in Australia, Canada, Belgium,
Italy and Finland, and he delivered a series of lectures at the University of
Groningen in the Netherlands and at the University of Szczecin in the Poland.
He participated in the solution of research grants, both of the Czech Republic
and of the European Communities, in the sphere of timber structures and wood
mechanics. He has also prepared Czech versions of all parts of Eurocode 5 and
Czech National application documents. He is a representative of the Czech
Republic in the following international and European organizations: ISO/TC 165 -
Timber Structures, CEN/TC 250/SC 5 - Structural Eurocodes, COST E5 - Timber Frame
Building Systems, COST E8 - Mechanical Performance of Wood and Wood Products,
CIB/W18 Timber Structures, RILEM/TC MTE - Test methods for load transferring
Metalwork used in Timber Engineering.
