LAUNCH THE PROGRAM

Description

This program can be used for the calculation and visual representation of bending moments in a two-way reinforced concrete slab at the ultimate limit state using the Yield Line Theory.

The Yield Line Theory and its use for the calculation of bending moments in izotropic slabs has been proposed by Johansen [1], and the use of this theory in design practice has been decribed in detail by Kennedy and Goodchild [2]. Holan and Štefan [3] have derived equations for the calculation of bending moments in orthotropic slabs assuming precise yield line pattern.

The YiLiDOn program employs a code based on the equations derived by Holan and Štefan [3]. In the program, input parameters are first defined. Then, the sagging bending moments are calculated, and using the user-defined fixity ratios, hogging moments are subsequently calculated. For detailed description, see [3].

The outputs of the program are graphs presenting the bending moments in both directions along the yield lines.
